Jasmine The Wonderdog

'Jasmine The Wonderdog'
A True Champion

The first sight I had of Jasmine was she was 6 weeks old and still with the rest of the litter. She was weaned off and ready for a new home. I thought that she was the perfect pup with a great temperament just like her mum Molly. The idea of getting Jasmine was to do a lot of sheep work with our mobile sheep dip. At first she was just the average pup with her basic obedience but that soon changed.

After a while I thought that I could try something a little bit different and more challenging like beg, shake hands and give ten and five. Later on I discovered that, being a border collie she was capable to achieve more than that so I taught her more advanced tricks like jump through hoops, jump though my arms, jump into my arms, head down, shake hands, play dead, hug, crawl and roll over.

The main events in Jasmine’s life are the Bridgetown show in 2002 which was the state dog jumping competition and Jasmine achieved 7th as well as jumping her way to 1st in 2003 and 4th in 2004, gala sports day a Manjimup Senior High School where she impressed the teachers and students, the Manjimup Show in March 2003, 2004 and 2005 in the children’s pet competition which she place 1st and in the Million Paws Walk and The City of Bunbury Dog Olympics 2003 which she won the agility and best trick sections. She also had a clear win over all at the 2004 City of Bunbury Dog Olympics.

When Jasmine isn’t training for another event she enjoys riding on and with Zadah (my horse), playing with Spot (my 7yr old dachshund) and swimming in the dam or just going for long runs with me.

She has appeared in the South Western Times once and the Manjimup-Bridgetown Times six times in addition to appearing in the schools newsletter and other magazines.

Jasmine, now 4 years old knows 94 tricks and the list just keeps on growing.
Jasmine you mean the most to me. I don’t know where I would be without you. You showed me the true meaning of best friends.
