Technology of the Millennium

The site http://www.aicpa.orgfor/pubs/jofa/apr2000/zarowin.htm talks about how technology is enhancing so fast that it is almost essential to understand it. It has become a souce of information rather than books and other sources. It is also becoming more of a source to buy and sell through rather than physical shops. Trading of the stockmarket is also part of technology. We have seen the record albums and cassettes slowly dissappear over the years and is expected to happen to the CD and Floppy disks as other fasters, more efficent transmitted softwear paid for by consumers the same way as gas or electricity.

Grazing The Net

The website http://www.fno.org/text/grazing.html looks at the way many students use the Internet of a way of avoiding thinking for themselves and using secondhand knowledge that someone else has written. This article contridicts itself by putting a biased article on the Internet that is infact giving out information that helps students to avoid thinking...WHAT THE?! The article talks about the way that students read biased information and are paswaded by it. It also says that out of all the sources available on the net students can get the wrong information instead of the unbiased and they tend to belive the biased source.

The main theme behind this site is that students need to be taught a range of skills and strategies in order to avoid learning from the wrong source of information and to make sence out of the unsorted information.
